By: Angel Rohrig

Date of Birth: Cleopatra was born in 69 BC. external image cleopatra.jpg
City and Empire of birth: Alexandria
Date of Death: Cleopatra died on August 12, 30 BC
Famous Family Members (if any):
  • Ptolemy XIII (brother)
  • Caesarion (son she had with Julius Caesar)
  • Marc Antony (husband)
  • Cleopatra Selene (child she had with Marc Antony)
  • Alexander Helios ( child she had with Marc Antony)
List any significant historical events this individual participated in AND his/her role in these events:
  • There was a big war between Julius Caesar and Pompey. Ptolemy took sides with Pompey and Cleopatra took sides with Julius Caesar. Pompey came to Egypt and Ptolemy decided to hide Pompey from Julius Caesar. Cleopatra heard about this and told Julius Caesar. Cleopatra then went and killed Pompey and had her brother killed.
  • Alexandria was being invaded by Octavian. They were just about to be invaded, so instead of being captured, Cleopatra and Alexander decided to kill themselves. I don't think that they wanted to be captured because they probably would have been fun of.
Why should future students learn about this individual?
I think that future students should learn about Cleopatra because I think that she is an interesting and important part of history. She had an important part in the war against Pompey and she was also kind of smart because she killed herself before she could get captured.
